Forest Circa 2014

You can just about see the River Trent in the background so I might not have to change the blogs name.

How the hell are we gonna argue against those who insist on calling us Notts Forest now?

50,000 Capacity is all very well - if you can guarantee those sorts of attendances week in week out - otherwise you end up with half empty grounds that look depressing (Villa Park & Hillsborough to name two).

Whats really now to differentiate us from Derby, Stoke, Middlesbrough, Doncaster et al - it's an identikit stadium. Though the moat surrounding it is admittedly a novel idea, but not as cool as the proposed Portsmouth ground built in the sea!.

Change is a funny thing - I know I was demanding it when Megson was in charge & I was screaming against it when Calderwood's sub cost us the play-off semis (I screamed at the top of my lungs "What happens if they score now?" after he'd left us with only one striker on the pitch). It's nice to have ambitions for the club - but it'd be even better to see a Board & Management team in place that could actually make it happen.

Lets get out of League 1 before we start trying to host World Cup games - because the week in week out needs of the Club are more important to the supporters, than some fancy artistic impressions of a "Super Stadium".

ps. It doesn't really need saying that I don't want to leave City Ground, does it?. The City Ground is Nottingham Forest to me.

oh Mist rolling in from the Trent, my desire is always to be on City Ground, City Ground.
